CET Qualification Overview
The TQUK Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF) prepares trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts. This qualification is suitable for individuals who want to focus on practical teaching and who want to teach in the further education and lifelong learning sector.

Core Units Objectives
· Develop an understanding of the skills that underpin literacy, language, numeracy and ICT and use them to help learners succeed in their studies.
· Encourage the development of inclusive practices when addressing the literacy, language, numeracy and ICT needs of learners.
· Raise awareness of the benefits of developing embedded approaches to teaching, learning and assessment of English, maths and ICT.
· Provide signposts to useful materials which will support collaborative working with specialist teachers of literacy, language, numeracy and ICT in understanding how to integrate these skills within other areas of specialism.

Entry profile and Eligibility:

Age: 19 +

A level 3 qualification to demonstrate the knowledge of the subject matter or related subject.

Although DBS clearance and a health declaration are not required, most British-based employers request it.

If English is not your first language, you will need a recognised English language qualification at the appropriate level e.g. IELTS, PTE, ISE or equivalent.

Individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice requirements of the qualification.

Individuals who are currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training) who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice requirements of the qualification.

Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a teaching qualification.

Individuals who may already be teaching and seek to gain accreditation of their experience.

individuals who are not presently teaching but capable of meeting the minimum teaching practice requirement (30 Hours).
Certificate in Education and Training Assignments
Notting Hill College has designed a host of assessment for RQF Level 4 CET qualification (CET- New CTLLS). To successfully complete your studies, you will need to write 11 assignments for the mandatory units and 5 to 6 for the optional unit (dependent on your choice), submit a portfolio of evidence, and attach at least one reflective learning journal.
For the practical side of the qualification a minimum of 30 hours teaching practice is required. Video recording, Skype sessions and any other online platform is considered. Evidence of teaching can be sent to Notting Hill College postal address or uploaded on your Moodle account.
This Certificate in Education and Training (RQF) Level 4 requires a 30-hour placement (teaching Practice) to successfully complete this course.

Career and Professional Development:
All new FE teachers are required to complete a teacher training qualification as the first step in obtaining QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills). Although this course does not lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) you are still allowed to teach in schools on the same basis as those with QTS for 14+ students (since April 2012).
Careers After CET Teaching Qualification
CET graduates can work as a teacher/trainer/tutor in further education colleges, adult and community education, the voluntary sector, commerce, industry, the public sector or HM forces.
